Day of the Augsburg Confession

On this day Lutheranism became the official religion in Germany, Protestantism and conquered in its right to exist.

Augsburg Confession — this is the main provisions of the first Lutheran faith, which in 1530 was a Lutheran theologian Philipp Melanchthon (Philipp Melanchton, on February 16 1497 — April 19 in 1560), the closest ally of . In the end, September 25 in 1555 between the head of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation Charles V and the Protestant rulers of the land, to seek equal rights with the Catholic princes, was concluded Religious Peace of Augsburg, which legitimized Protestantism. The agreement was confirmed and the papal decision.

So Lutheranism became a state religion.
