UN Public Service Day

December 20 2002 57 United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 57/277 proclaiming June 23 public Service Day, the UN (United Nations Public Service Day). Since then, this day is celebrated every year.

The UN called on Member States to organize this day special events to highlight the contribution of public service in the development process.

Russian Federation — a member of the UN 24 October in 1945 (up to 1991 — was a member of the United Union of Soviet Socialist Republics ).

in a letter dated December 24 1991 the President of the Russian Federation 475 informed the Secretary-General that the membership of the Soviet Union in the Security Council and all other organs of the United Nations will be continued by the Russian Federation with the support of 11 countries — members of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
