International Day is celebrated annually on the resistance movement April 10 and is dedicated to all those who resisted the Nazis during the Second World War, the territories occupied by the troops of the Third Reich.
The resistance movement was organized with the participation of the inhabitants of the occupied territories, the opposing German troops, and the variety of different forms of struggle against the occupiers. The most common were: anti-fascist agitation and propaganda, publishing underground literature, strikes, sabotage and sabotage on transport and factories producing products for the invaders, armed assault to destroy the traitors and the representatives of the occupation administration, gathering intelligence for the armies of the anti-fascist coalition, the guerrilla war. The highest form of the resistance movement was a popular armed uprising.
Greatest scope acquired resistance movement in the Soviet Union, Italy, Poland, France, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and other countries.
In some countries (Yugoslavia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Albania, Vietnam, Philippines) resistance movement grew into a war of national liberation against the fascist invaders. In Yugoslavia and Albania's national liberation war against the invaders merged with the civil war against internal reaction that opposed the liberation struggle of their people. In the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, the leading forms of movement were the strike movement and the anti-fascist demonstration. In Germany, the main method was the conspiratorial activities of the underground anti-fascist groups to involve the public in the fight against fascism, distribution of promotional materials, assisting hijacked in Germany to foreign workers and prisoners of war, etc.
In each country the resistance movement was deeply national in character, but at the same time, it was an international movement, because there has been common to all peoples struggling goal — the defeat of the forces of fascism, the liberation of the occupied territories of the invaders.
Actions road users in different countries have significantly contributed to the victory of the anti-Hitler coalition and the nearer end of the war.
