Banker's Day in Armenia

In 2003, the Government of Armenia has declared November 22 Happy Banker. Since that day employees of banks celebrate their professional holiday.

This celebration highlights the important role of the state of the banking system and the significant contribution of bank employees in Armenia's economic development and to ensure its financial stability.

The date for the holiday was chosen due to the fact that the November 22, 1993 in Armenia, instead of the State Bank of the USSR rubles in circulation has introduced a national currency — the dram. Analysts and economists believed that the transition to the drama created opportunities for the establishment of the financial and banking system, and for the development of the economy.

However, the sharp appreciation of the drama was only ten years later — in the summer of 2003. AMD and today continues to improve its quotation, but at a slower pace.

Speaker of the National Assembly said that "After the restoration of the statehood and the approval of its attributes, what are the flag, emblem and anthem, one of the most important and decisive steps according to economic independence has been a shift in the Armenian DramĀ».

On this day, all bank employees Armenia receive congratulations and greetings from the Government of the Republic and local authorities.
