History of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (International Day for the Eradication of Poverty) is inextricably linked with the date October 17 in 1987. On that day, more than a hundred thousand people gathered at the Trocadero in Paris, where in 1948, was signed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to pay tribute to victims of extreme poverty, violence and hunger.
The participants said that poverty is a violation of human rights, and reiterated the need to work together to enforce these rights. These statements are inscribed on the memorial stone which was opened that day.
Since then, people of different social classes, beliefs and social background are collected annually on October 17 to confirm the immutability of his position and to show solidarity with the poor. The same commemorative stones were discovered in many countries around the world, and they are a gathering place for the Day. One such gem is located in the garden of the Headquarters of the United Nations, and it is near a ceremony held annually organized by the United Nations in New York.
