Recognizing the important contribution of entrepreneurs to the economy of the Republic, with the visibility and the importance of entrepreneurship as one of the main driving forces of progress and supporting the resolution I Congress of Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Judgment October 20 in 2000) was established by professional holiday, Day of the entrepreneur, which annually notes 20 September.
Over the years of independence the country, as a result of deep social and economic reforms, formed the domestic business, which is a powerful social and political force.
November 25 2002 the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Askar Akayev signed a decree "On the Council for Enterprise Development under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic." This document was adopted in order to ensure a co-ordinated policy and regulation of relations in the field of enterprise development, improving the mechanism of protection of the rights and interests of entrepreneurs.
Under the Decree, the Council for Development predprimatelstva deals with the problems of creating an enabling environment and business development. Also, the Board is working to achieve the objectives of the Republican Conference of Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan.
