26 July in 1953 is considered one of the most important dates in the modern history of Cuba — is the beginning of the Cuban Revolution Day (National Rebellion Day). In the morning, a group of Cuban revolutionary insurgents led by the then little-known tried to storm the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city of Cuba (also called the day of the anniversary of Moncada — Moncada Anniversary ).
